Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

You can eat cookies at 9:30am right? Certainly! These ones have oats in them so that counts as breakfast. I found with these cookies on the first tray that they came out a little flat. I stuck the batter in the fridge for about 20-30 minutes and they cooked up perfectly. These cookies were even more divine with the chopped up milk chocolate bar.

Ingredients:
1 cup softened butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup cooking oats
1 cup chocolate chips
plus some extra chopped up chocolate bar

In your mixer combine, 1 cup softened butter with 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup white sugar

Add in 1 tsp vanilla and 2 eggs. Mix until combined

In a separate bowl combine 1 3/4 cup flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp baking soda. Mix and stir into butter mixture.

Mix until just combined 1 cup oats and 1 cup chocolate chips

If you want to make them even tastier you can chop in some of your favourite chocolate bar

I would suggest at this point placing it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or so (you can try not doing that but if the first tray comes out flatter then try the fridge and then scoop your batter by the spoonful onto a cookie sheet and place in your preheated 375 degree oven

mmm, let them sit a couple of minutes and then move them to a cooling tray. Grab yourself a glass of milk and enjoy!
